  1. Beautiful area, and a great post. Just getting our first snow storm here in Nova Scotia, unfortunately no mountains like Mount Shasta around here to photograph!

    • The low flow is fairly common this time of year. Though lower than much of the rest of the year, it still has a fair amount of water, especially considering how light the last two winters have been and how dry the current one has been thus far. You are correct though, the spring thaw brings out the fury in the Sacramento. The second image on the linked page has a shot of the river in spring, when it has split into several ferocious channels. It is a sight to behold!
